One for the changing seasons

I have noticed the Fall weather mingling in more each day. Last night I made a trip out to the garage and did not realize I should have taken a coat! But I soon took notice of the weather around me, and I valued the observations I made. Then... I was up early today and stepped outside again. It was the brisk kind of morning that takes your breath away with the cold. I was instantly chilled, yet I felt JOY in the sensation and took another icy breath ... (then promptly ran inside to appreciate the warmth.) But in looking out the window I beheld the wonder of a frost covered scene. It becomes all too common when you spend a few winters in this part of the state, but I was awe struck for this first time of the season.
So here you have it...

SILVER NIGHT

A chill unseen
Aware of crisp air
Cool then cold
Contently I stare
Biting breeze
Trees leafless and bare
Shades of gold
Captivated there
Subtle but changed
An impression rare

Moments then hours
Shade happens everywhere
Silence almost full
Too still to share
Dew assembles in form
Intrigue to spare
A radiant glow gathers
Glint they wear
Silver night came
Frosty flare
